Ben currently leads the Global Issues and Crisis Communications team at Medtronic, where he’s worked since August 2019. Prior to Medtronic, Ben held various roles in government and politics, including serving as Communications Director to the Minnesota Secretary of State, Mayor of Saint Paul, and U.S. Attorney for the District of Minnesota.

 

An attorney by training, Ben began his career on Capitol Hill as a personal aide to a United States Senator from Maryland, and after law school served as the Deputy Press Secretary for Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance, Jr.

Ben is originally from Baltimore, where he grew up eating crabs and rooting for the Baltimore Orioles. He moved to Minnesota from New York City in 2014 with his wife, Jessie, a professor at St. Olaf College. They live in Southwest Minneapolis with their two children.
