Shannon Watson is the founder of Majority in the Middle and the Executive Director.
She currently also serves as the Senior Director of Government Affairs & Policy for the Medical Alley Association. Prior to MAA, she worked for the St. Paul Area Chamber, U.S. Bank, the Minnesota Senate, and the National Conference of State Legislatures.
Shannon has 20+ years of experience in the political arena, working on local and statewide races on both sides of the aisle in Kansas, Colorado and Minnesota. A frequent op-ed writer in a love-hate relationship with Twitter, she was a member of the MYALP cohort in 2022, a Humphrey Policy Fellow 2020-2021, has been recognized by the Citizens League as an #MNCivicLeader and awarded a MinneInno 50 On Fire.
Shannon has a bachelor's degree in English, Theatre and Psychology from Wichita State University and a masters in Advocacy and Political Leadership from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. She lives in Minneapolis.
